Disco Tiger
One of our most-requested recipes is Jonnie Long’s Disco Tiger, a fresh and fruity vodka sour that follows the Cosmopolitan template, with a base of citrusy vodka combined with a fruity liqueur and a bitter red component (here Cappelletti Aperitivo instead of cranberry juice). When it debuted at Death & Co Denver in 2022, the drink was such a hit that it inspired a beer collaboration with local brewery 4 Noses.
Disco Tiger
1¼ ounces Hangar 1 Buddha's Hand Citron vodka
½ ounce Aelred Melon L'Aperitif Liqueur
¼ ounce Cappelletti Aperitivo
¾ ounce fresh lemon juice
½ ounce vanilla syrup (see Note)
Garnish: 1 lemon wheel
Shake all the ingredients with ice, then strain into a double old-fashioned glass over 1 large ice cube. Garnish with the lemon wheel.
Note: To make Vanilla Syrup, combine 250 grams simple syrup with 1 gram pure vanilla extract.
