Naked & Famous

Joaquin Simo dreamed up this drink in 2011 as "the bastard child born out of an illicit Oaxacan love affair between the classic Last Word and the Paper Plane, a drink Sam Ross created at the West Village bar Little Branch." An equal-parts concoction of mezcal, Yellow Chartreuse, Aperol, and lime juice, the Naked & Famous has all the markers of a "modern classic" cocktail: its reach has extended far beyond our bars, its recipe is approachable and easy to replicate, and it's singularly delicious.

¾ ounce mezcal
¾ ounce Yellow Chartreuse
¾ ounce Aperol
¾ ounce fresh lime juice

Shake all the ingredients with ice, then double strain into a chilled coupe. No garnish.
