Serenity Now
“This drink was inspired by my time working at the tea room Steep LA, where I would drink loads of hot oolong milk tea. I knew I wanted to make a hot cocktail that utilized the oolong’s complex flavors paired with another spirit that has tannic qualities to it. And I decided that sherry would be a good option for a hot toddy riff. The drink’s name, of course, is inspired by the “Seinfeld” episode (season 9, episode 3) where George's dad, Frank, is given a relaxation tape by his doctor that advises him to say the phrase 'serenity now!' whenever his blood pressure gets too high. Like Frank’s mantra, this drink aims to give you a bit of serenity with each sip.” —MP
